Fun in the sun

Not much to update just been busy chasing after a 15 month old! I swear Logan thinks he can RUN now, which scares mommy to death! We had a pretty laid back weekend.  On Saturday we went to the pool with our good friend Clint and his little girl Makenna.  Logan LOVES bathtime and splash day at school so we thought he would be in heaven at the pool.  Ummm. WRONG.  He clung to me as if his life depended on it for a good 45 minutes.  I think he was just needing to get used to the water and all the other kiddos.  Makenna had a blast going down the froggy slide.  Logan finally warmed up to the water and turned into squirmy wormy and tried to get out of my arms (which made me a little nervous).

Ok, I am going to go on a rant really fast.  There were TONS of kids in the pool and not many parents in or even close to the pool.  Lots of those kids probably could not swim.  I saw a little boy not much older than Logan by HIMSELF in the water.  The water was almost at his chin.  This makes me really angry and I am sure lifeguards are there that will appreciate this.  Lifeguards are not babysitters! Your kids still need to be watched by YOU, the PARENT! Ugh, I helped a little girl about 2 years old, she went under and came up choking and her parents not in sight.  I know how quickly a child can drown, in an instant.  My husband thinks I am a wack-a-doo and too over-protective, but I do not care.  Can I just wrap my child in a bubble his whole life...or is that going too far?!

Ok rant is over.

After swimming for almost 2 hours Logan was in his car seat for about 2.5 seconds and he was fast asleep.  We decided to go to JJ's and get a snocone.  They are only like the best snocones...ever.  Bryan got Cherries Jubilee and I got Rock Candy...so yummy.  Logan woke up when we were driving home so I fed him some of Bryan's and he liked it alot!

That night I had a work banquet and it was great to see all of the hard work that our Aggie Orientation Leaders do throughout the year.  I even got a $50 gift card from the Co-Directors to Best Buy! So guess what we did on Sunday?  Yep, went and loaded up on some new movies for Logan of course! We found some really good deals and ended up with 6 DVDs.  We put in Ice Age last night and Logan just keep laughing when the sloth came on.  He usually doesn't watch TV, he never sits still long enough, but he was intrigued.
He was being a little ham in the tub!

It is a short week for me, I will be leaving Friday to head to the Guadalupe River for my best friend's bachelorette party! I am going to have lots of fun with the girls, but this also means I will be away from my Boo Boo for 2 WHOLE NIGHTS.  Longest I have ever been away from him.  :( I will try to keep it together, there is another mom that is going so I am sure we can talk "kiddos" since most of my friends don't have babies yet!

We have a walker!

So Logan decided to walk the day after his 15 month check up and I was expressing my concern to the doctor that he had not started walking yet.  Last Friday night, I was sitting on the floor playing with him like I do everynight and he stood up and was trying to walk over to me (I had a snack in my hand) and he took two steps and kept on coming!! We were so proud of him, Bryan and I both had tears in our eyes....Ok maybe it was just me but Bryan was one proud Dada! This video is him on Sunday night.  My sweet boy is so proud of himself and is growing up so fast.

Happy 4th and 15 months old!

Happy 4th of July! We had a pretty mellow holiday spent with some of my favorite people, Shawna and Ben! We planned on going to their pool but too many students so we stayed and lounged at our house.  Played games, made hotdogs and watched a movie.  We went to go watch the fireworks and Logan was intrigued by them.  But after they were over, he was tuckered out.  Well I was too.

AND Logan is 15 months old!
Oh my goodness where is the time going?
He is babbling away but still only mama and dada, sometimes duck and dog (but with duck it sounds more like duh, and dog is doh)
He mimicks us all the time.  It is too cute.  Like his "mean face" here.  We would do it and then he would do it.  We might be in trouble....
We went to the doctor for his 15 month check up and Logan now knows what goes on there.  We get there and he has a meltdown.  Like literally will not stop crying unless the doctor or nurse is out of the room. Geez.   His stats were great!
Height:  32 inches (77th percentile, he is going to be a tall boy!)
Weight:  24.4 pounds (40th percentile, he is just lean!)
He got one shot and it was not too bad.  Usually he has gotten 4 of them so he was ok with just one.  I asked her about him not walking and not talking too much and she said not to worry about it, so I am not going to.  I always try not to compare my kid to others, but it is hard.  She just said he will do it when he wants to and with him being so stubborn already, I believe her!
My sweet boo boo you are getting too big and Mommy and Daddy love you to the moon and back!!
