Christmas 2016

Christmas was so wonderful this year as the Parks family did not travel! It was so nice to just be at our house for Christmas.

We took the boys to see Santa and I was not so sure how Mason would react.  He ran to Santa with open arms! It is crazy to see the different pictures and how the boys have grown! Santa has seemed to change too! This year Logan asked Santa for a wooden train and Mason "asked" for a basketball hoop.

2016

We made our annual trip to Hobby Lobby and let the boys pick out an ornament.  Logan picked a train and Mason picked a Minion!

Christmas Eve consisted of cooking making, church service and each of the boys got to open one gift each.

Christmas morning the boys were so excited to see what they got from Santa! We stayed in our jammies all day and it was great!

After Christmas we spent a few days in Brenham with my family.  We thought we would check out the Lights of Tejas at Camp Tejas in Giddings and it was great! Very family friendly, no crowds, no lines, and $8 to get in?? Count me in! We did a hayride, sledding, bounce houses and ended the night with a great fireworks show. We will be going back next year for sure, the kids had a blast!

We spent New Years at my best friend's house in Austin.  It was so much fun and the kids had a great time.  I have zero pictures from that night, oh well! We had a great break and now back to reality!

First haircut

Over the Christmas break we decided it was time to get Mason's curls trimmed.   Bryan had actually been wanting to get it cut since summer but I told him to wait until he turned 2! Those curls are just too cute!

He was our brave boy and sat still on Daddy's lap while she cut his hair.  Of course they put his little blonde curls in a bag for me to put in his baby book.

It is crazy how a haircut can make my baby turn into a big boy!

But as we can tell the curls look like they might stay!

Mason is TWO!

Our Buggie Boy turned TWO! It is crazy how fast time flies when you have kids.

We had all our family over for Christmas at our house this year and it was the day before Mason's actual birthday and I was NOT going to stress out and have two parties.  So we combined it and it was fine. December birthdays are hard to plan.  The next day was all about Mason's special day.  We went and looked at Christmas lights, he played with his new train set, we watched Finding Dory and then got some Blizzards.

Mason is our wild one.  He is sweet and lovable and always on the move and BUSY.  He is embracing being a toddler, tantrums included! Mason has been testing our limits and he goes to "time out" if he needs to.  We are still working on sharing and not biting/hitting when he gets mad.  Despite all the fits, Mason just brightens our life.  He is sweet and loves to give lots of hugs and kisses.  He sometimes likes to cuddle but will not stay on our lap very long.  He is a great sleeper and is in bed by 7:30 pm with little to no fuss about being in bed.  He has to sleep with his monkey, Elmo and blankets.  He does not cover up with his blankets, just sleeps with them.  He has a head full of curly blonde locks. I love to play with his little ringlets, they just bounce right back! Bryan told me that when he is two we have to get his hair cut and I am dreading it, but it is getting a little out of control.  He LOVES shoes! He will bring mommy and daddy their "soos" for the day.  Or if he sees shoes he loves to put his feet in them and attempt to walk around.  He loves watching movies and cartoons with Logan.  His favorites are the movie Home, Minions and Frozen but only the Olaf part.  He loves books.  He will sit and "read" his books in his room.  He is still in his crib and we are going to leave him in it probably until next year when the boys begin to share a room.

He went to the doctor and weighs in right at 30 pounds. He also had no problem with the doctor! This is a very different story than with Logan! He let the doctor check him out and did not even cry for the shot! He is our brave boy.   He is wearing mostly 2T some 24 month things still and in a size 6 shoe, but can wear a 7 also.  He is in a size 4 diaper and we are in the beginning stages of going potty (not much).

SAYING: Mason is talking SO much! He will try his best to repeat everything we say.

  • Luh loo Mama, Bubba, Dada--I think this is my favorite!
  • I some
  • Doe-Whoa (Donut)
  • Mia (Mac n cheese)
  • Doggy
  • Fishy
  • Apoo (apple)
  • Suzzy (our dog Sully)
  • Siki (dog Suki)
  • Paw Paw
  • Rams (Grams)
  • No No  (this is HIS favorite)
  • Yep
  • Nite Nite
  • Bye Bye
  • Llama (loves Llama books)
  • Elmo
  • Minion
  • Olaf
  • Go Owside (go outside)
  • Waller (water)
  • Milk
  • Soos (shoes)

Likes: Blowing kisses, bubbles, wrestling with big brother, Minions, Olaf, Elmo, shoes, going outside, howling like a dog, singing, petting "Siki" and "Suzzy", playing on the play scape and going down the big slide, running, playing with any type of ball, trucks, trains, books.  He is also just so sweet to Logan--most of the time.  They really love to play together and I cannot wait until they share a room---maybe next year.

Favorite Food: Bananas, Cheese, Macaroni and Cheese, Waffles, Donuts, Pizza, Apples.Yes this is mostly all he eats.  Macaroni and cheese is his go to most nights.  He also loves his Doe-Whoas (donuts).  He tried bacon the other day and liked it.  The only meat he has eaten is nuggets from Chick Fil A or chicken strips from Wings n More.  We bake chicken at home and he does not eat it. We have tried to introduce him to new foods with little success.   He likes to walk in the kitchen and try to open the pantry even after dinner.  He also likes to raid the fridge.  We always have to tell him OUT OF THE KITCHEN most nights.

Dislikes: He does not like to ride in the car that much unless it is a long trip then he falls asleep.  He does not like getting his diaper changed...potty training might be coming sooner than we thought.  He goes to the potty at school, but very beginning stages of it. He doesn't mind being carried but he wants to walk on his own most days.

Mason, you are just the light of our lives! Your smile and laugh can make the worst of days go away. You are loving, smart, and downright sweet.  We love you so much Buggie.  Happy Birthday to you!!

Fall festivities 2016

Well it is Fall y'all! Ok well technically it is, but the weather needs to figure it out!

We enjoyed going to the pumpkin patch, carving our pumpkins and Halloween!

When we asked Logan what he wanted to be for Halloween back in August (I am a planner) and he was dead set on being a firefighter. I thought well Mason HAS to be the dalmatian! Mason was not too impressed with the "puppy" and wanted to rip it off as soon as he put it on.  But a little bribery with candy did the trick!
