It's the most wonderful time of the year!

With Christmas less than a week away I am a little behind on the blogging! But we have been having fun crafting, baking and just being together as a family having fun! Logan is actually understanding more of Christmas this year, so that is fun! But also the REAL reason, the birth of Jesus. Still not a fan of Santa, but that is ok :)  So here is LOTS of pics!

Our "Santa visit" this year.

How cute is my little man in his apron ready to bake?!

Bryan putting up our first ever big Christmas tree!

Helping Daddy with the lights only to realize we cannot put them up with a staple gun, we need the clips....then it rained every weekend so sad to say our house has no lights this year :(

Decorating the little tree aka the tree we have put up for 5 years!

The finished product!

Merry Christmas from the Parks Family!

Thankful

Reflecting on Thanksgiving, I am so thankful for the life that God has blessed my family with.  I feel like so many times, I get down on things but have to realize the bigger picture and man, I am so blessed! We went to spend thanksgiving with my parents, Memaw and my sister and nephews.  We did some crafting, baking, laughing, eating, playing and of course napping! We all drew names out of a hat and got to go around and say why we are thankful for that person and a great memory, it was really fun to reminisce.  It was a great Thanksgiving and I am looking forward to Christmas! On Saturday we put up our tree, that will be another post!
Come on holiday break!!
Only about 18 days (12 work days!) away. Oh man, I better get to ordering Christmas cards!

Yea, I am rocking my Memaw's coat! I like it!!

My parents and their grandboys!

It's fall ya'll!

Ok it has been fall for a while, but now it FEELS like fall!

What a difference a YEAR makes!

So long blonde!

Pumpkin spice latte, my fav!

New fall boots! And of course I could not resist buying Logan some too!

We also had a great night of pumpkin carving! Makenna requested a unicorn and Logan requested a dump truck. Daddies did pretty good!

I put quite a bit of thought into Halloween costumes. Even before Logan, Bryan and I love to dress up.  We are kids at heart what can I say? So I thought long and hard about how we can dress up with Logan and be a family theme without spending tons of money.  I took to pinterest and found some really cute ideas.  But I decided that Logan would be a shark and I would order his costume, Bryan would be the surfer  and I would be the lifeguard.  My best friend let me borrow her lifeguard gear and Bryan just wore board shorts (thank goodness it was not cold!) and an old Hollister shirt and ripped off one of the sleeves and wrapped it up with an ace bandage.  Then  I made his surf board out of an old box and we spray painted it.  He wore a wig that he wore last year as a pirate.  We spent $0 on our costumes and I think they turned out pretty cute! Logan was a little hesitant to put on his costume, but he eventually did and once he saw everyone else in costume, he was ok with it.  The it was time for trick or treating! We went to the George Bush Library the Sunday before Halloween.  He had lots of fun!

Every year, we go trick or treating with our good friends Clint and Karla and their little girl Makenna.  Last year Logan was a little small but had a great time.  This year he was excited to run up to the door and say trick or treat! He is such a big boy now.  And these 2 are the best of friends.  He loves his "Kenna".  He had a blast and he got so much candy! Can't wait for next year when their will be 2 more kiddos to add to the group (They are due with twin boys in December!)
