Weight Loss-standstill

I decided to get my butt in gear in January and lose 10 pounds. 10 pounds, that's it, that won't be hard right? I borrowed the 30 day shred from a co-worker (thanks Carrie!) and started mid January.  My plan was to do it for 3 months.  It has 3 levels, so I would be done and in perfect shape in April! Well the 3 months have almost come and gone and guess how much I have lost.  0.  None.  Nada.  Zilch.

i. am. over. it.

Well not really, but come on! I have been working out 3-4 times a week for almost 3 months! And it is not like I eat a cheeseburger everyday either.  My daily meals consist of:
Coffee
Yogurt
Pretzels
Cheese
Protein Bar
Apple
Carrots
maybe a mini sized chocolate (I have a sweet tooth people!)
And lots of water throughout the day
My dinner is what I make for the family.  No grilled chicken and salad everynight, but mostly pretty healthy. And we eat salad and fresh fruit at almost all meals.
And I normally eat like a 60 calorie jello pudding at night, I have to have something sweet, it is my weakness.

WTF?

I guess I am going to have to start with something else.  I don't know.  I am 5 pounds over what I weighed when I got pregnant with Logan.  I just don't understand.  I am frustrated.  Sigh.  What the heck is the point of loosing weight if you are going to have more babies?  I mean I will probably loose it and then get pregnant again and heck it will probably take me 2 years to get this 10 pounds off at the rate I am going!
I have to remember, it is not about the weight, well yes it really is, but it is about being healthy.
So I got my butt up this morning at 5:45 and kept pushing on with my workout.
I really should not complain.  I am in the same size I was wearing pre-Logan.  That makes me happy :)
But I just would love to see results on the scale.
I have come to the realization that working out and being healthy is a lifestyle not a quick fix.  Need to keep that in perspective.  I just need to keep swimming.

Story time

This just makes my heart happy so I thought I would share :) It is what we do every single night and it is the best part of the day! It is the little things like story time that make my life complete.

Reading bible stories

Hug the book

Hugs for Dada (Mama gets some too!)

Big boy bed

Yep, it happened.  We converted Logan's crib to his "big boy bed".
It was a little heart-breaking for this mama.

He has done pretty good in it so far! He has leaned that he can get out of bed, but as soon as we hear the door try to open, Bryan sternly tells him to get back in bed and go to sleep.  It has worked! He might try and get up 2 or 3 times but then falls asleep and we don't hear a peep until morning!

Our perfect weekend

This past weekend was spent....doing not much at all and it was perfect!
Friday evening we went to a wedding and Logan did pretty good.  It was my college roommate and the wedding was Friday evening so Bryan and I took half day off so we had enough time to get ready and head to Conroe.  Logan spent the reception dancing and running around everywhere.  He was pooped by 10, so we headed back and got home around 11.  It was nice though and a really beautiful wedding.
Wedding ceremony was outside.....brrrrr! Good thing it was only about 10 minutes!

Myself and the beautiful bride (she had already changed out of her dress)
My thought was that Logan would sleep in a little later the next morning.
I was wrong.  7:06am and he was up.
Bryan went to work on Saturday morning and Logan now demands that Elmo be put on.  I don't mind at all, but we only have 2 Sesame Street DVDs and they get played over and over.  We plan to get more but by the time we do that, he will probably be on to something else. We have lots of Disney DVDs, but those do not keep his attention long enough.
I digress. He will sit in front of the TV when Elmo is on and I do not hear a peep from him....which is rare. So we watched back to back episodes of Elmo and I learned so much about the letter R, number 18 and even some spanish.
He was having a bit of a rough morning.  He stubbed his toe, and by the sound of it, you would think he was being murdered.  When I went to change his diaper, he peed all over me! I kind of stood there in shock because this has not happened since he was a newborn and my brain was trying to process what had just happened.  I made him a PB&J and I sat him down to eat his lunch and he threw the mashed up sandwich on the carpet.  Something had to be done.  I popped his little hand.  I felt so bad.  He cried.  I cried.  We were a bit of a hot mess.  After that I sat him on the couch and explained that we do not throw things.  He sadly nodded his head while still crying his little heart out.  He ate his sandwich and just as I was about to pick him up to put him in his crib for a nap, he passed out right on the couch.  I held his little hand and laid next to him.

My world.

When he woke up, all was forgiven and we went about the day playing.  The next day we got up and had yummy cinnamon rolls, watched more Elmo and got ready for church.  We were on time, but when we got to the car I forgot that we had washed the car seat cover (omg........it was so bad......had not washed it since we have had it oh yea that would be over a year!) so Bryan put it on, but it took longer than we expected. We left at 9:30.  Our Sunday School class starts at 9:30.  We live about 10 minutes from our church.  By the time we checked Logan in the nursery, it was 9:50.  I HATE being late.  So we went to early church instead.  The sermon was great.  He talked about dying, a subject I would rather take out of my mind all together.  I am not afraid of dying, it is just the unknown, the how will it happen and when?  The fact is that you don't know.  All you know is that one day it will happen and will you be ready for it.  Put things in perspective for me.
Since we got out of church early, we decided to treat ourselves to Cracker Barrel. Logan got to eat his favorite thing: eggs! He had eggs, biscuits, some of my mac and cheese, apples, that boy was a bottomless pit! He had fun sitting in the big boy chair and doing the puzzle.

It was another lazy day when we got home.  Logan slept from like 2 until almost 5! It was crazy, he must have been tired from his full belly!! After he got up, we played outside while Bryan worked on his bike.
