Whew, what a weekend! On Friday we took off early to head to Brenham for my best friend, Shawna's wedding the next day. She was the most beautiful bride! It was a country wedding which is SO Shawna and Ben. The venue was out in Fayettville, beautiful setting! All of her decor was burlap, mason jars and sunflowers. I had a pretty busy time fulfilling all of my bridesmaid duties so Bryan, Grams and Paw Paw were left to take care of Logan. I missed putting that sweet boy to bed 2 nights in a row...which has never happened before. He came to the wedding though and I really thought when he saw me coming down the aisle he was going to scream out MAMA! He didn't though, which surprised me. Near the end of the ceremony I did hear him saying uh-oh over and over again. We danced, talked with old friends, ate fun-fetti wedding cake (yes I am totally serious...yum) and even stayed out a little late. Everything was perfect and I was so happy to be a part of their special day!
On Sunday we had to leave about 10:30am and head to the Woodlands because I was helping host a baby shower for my good friend Meredith, who is due with sweet little Savannah Rae in late November. She got so much stuff...all pink of course! All the hostesses got together and got her the bedding she wanted. She had a great first shower (1 of many, she has a BIG family) and I think Savannah is pretty much set! It was so fun to spend time with the girls that I don't get to see that often.
I also made a really yummy punch and everyone was asking about the recipe! Here it is, super simple.
Princess Punch
1 bottle ginger ale
1 can pineapple juice
1 frozen can of pink lemonade
2 1/2 cups of water
Mix all together, ta-da! The receipe says to also add strawberry ice cream in the bottom of the cup before you pour the punch in, but it did not taste as good so I just omitted that part. Next time I might add fresh strawberries that might be good.
And since we were in the Woodlands, I could not leave without seeing my sweet 6 year old nephew Hunter and 6 month old nephew Hayden. Love those boys. We all went out to Tutti Frutti for frozen yogurt. Logan loved it, we even gave Hayden some too and he ate it up that little chubb chubb. He is so chunky! I love his rolls on his legs. Hunter was so cute wanting to tell me all about first grade....first grade! I remember when he was born and I know I am going to blink and Logan will be going to college :(
It was a short visit but we had to head home, we were so tired. Logan cried on and off the whole way home. We had a long...but really great weekend!
